About Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation

Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation (SCHF) is changing the future for sick kids. SCHF exists to promote philanthropic investment in the prevention and management of childhood illness, with a focus on kids and families receiving treatment or care in services provided by Sydney’s two children’s hospitals at Randwick and Westmead. One of the largest and most trusted kids’ health charities in the country, with one foot in the frontline and one in the future of kids’ health, SCHF makes sure funds raised go directly to support children’s healthcare – from the hospital wards to the treatment rooms, the research labs and the outreach programs.

Why did we start donating to SCHF?

We started donating to SCHF because of a deeply personal experience. When our principal, Michael’s daughter, Pam, was three years old, she was admitted to the hospital with a severe lung infection. In critical condition and struggling to breathe, she received life-saving care from the dedicated medical team, ensuring her smooth recovery.

During this time, Michael saw firsthand the challenges faced by other children and was profoundly moved by the compassion and dedication of the hospital staff. Inspired by their efforts, he made a commitment to give back. Years later, Pam went on to become an Olympic athlete in synchronized swimming, competing in the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris—a testament to the resilience that Sydney Children's Hospital helps nurture in young lives.
