Get to know Wentworth Point

Wentworth Point is a Western Sydney suburb, 16km west of the Sydney CBD and was formerly part of the suburb of Homebush and was named after D’Arcy Wentworth, Ship’s Assistant-Surgeon on the Second Fleet. It is located on the western shore of Homebush Bay on the southern side of the Parramatta River. Buses operate from Wentworth Point to Burwood to Rhodes (526) and Chatswood to Olympic Park (533). Sydney Olympic Park ferry wharf is at the northern end of Wentworth Point and is served by Parramatta River ferry services. Regular services run to Circular Quay, Darling Harbour and Parramatta.

Today the suburb is a young, professional and vibrant community in a medium to high density and modern suburb with all recreational facilities, shops, cafes and restaurants only moments away. As a lifestyle choice there is a loop of cycleways creating a Bay run through Bicentennial Park, Sydney Olympic Parklands and onwards to Parramatta. Kayaking, rowing and dragon boating can be seen inside Homebush Bay.

The 2016 Estimated Resident Population for Wentworth Point is 7,429, with a population density of 130.65 persons per hectare.
